Nilda Burgos and Hans de Koning, the leaders of Schad Expertise, bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their work.
Nilda, with her extensive experience in handling claims, has built a reputation among clients for her professionalism and accuracy.
Hans, with his diverse background in the maritime industry, including time spent at sea as a deck officer and working as a project manager, ship manager, and marine surveyor, has developed a deep understanding of the industry.
Together, they are supported by a team of qualified office staff and field surveyors, making them a formidable force in providing expert services to clients.
Director
After completion of her study Chemical Engineering Nilda joint Schad Expertise as surveyor more than 35 years ago. Nilda is leading Schad expertise, first as manager and later as director for the last 22 years. During this time, she became the expert in insurance and P&I matters in the Dominican Republic handling a large diversity of cases. Within Schad expertise Nilda is responsible, amongst others, for operations, cargo surveys and local client relations.
Senior Surveyor
Hans studied on the Nautical Academy in Amsterdam and served over 20 years on board of a variety of vessels. He worked as project manager for ship new building, and engine room installations. During his career he has been engaged in ship management, marine consultancy and marine surveying. He holds an MBA in Marine Surveying and is a Member of the International Institute of Marine Surveyors (IIMS). Within Schad Expertise, Hans is responsible for business development, international client relations and Marine Surveys.
Survey Coordinator
With 28 years of experience in the maritime sector, the career of Yvonne includes 21 years as Claims Handler in which gives her a solid track record in managing cargo claims and coordinating inspections. She holds a law degree with training in Maritime Law, providing a comprehensive understanding of the regulations and standards of operational, commercial, and insurance processes in the international maritime transport of goods. Within Schad Expertise Yvonne is responsible for Survey Coordination, claim handling, and documentation.
Marine and Cargo Surveyor
Koichi holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is working in the maritime industry for over 9 years, including customs brokerage, freight forwarding, and port agency services, scaling from assistant to managing positions in less than a decade. He has a large knowledge of maritime processes and extensive local network within the ports and the Dominican Maritime Industry. Within Schad Expertise Koichi is engaged in cargo and marine surveys and maintaining national client relationships.
Cargo Surveyor
Ivan is an Industrial Engineer who graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, with experience at Schad Expertise as a Cargo Surveyor. In this role, he is specialized in assessing cargo conditions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing risks. Precision and attention to detail are crucial for providing reliable reports and ensuring client satisfaction.
